Mechthild Esser Nemmers Prize in Medical Science is awarded to those whose body of research exhibits outstanding achievement in medical science as demonstrated by works of lasting significance.

THE DANONE INTERNATIONAL PRIZE FOR NUTRITION

The 2013 DANONE INTERNATIONAL PRIZE FOR NUTRITION recognizes a single researcher or research team leading a major advancement in nutrition science, including new concepts and research fields with potential application for human diet and health. The innovative research, including mechanisms, disease prevention and management, behavior, economics, public health, or expanding the frontiers of food science and nutrition, are within scope.

Rolf Luft Award

The Rolf Luft Award is given by Karolinska Institutet for outstanding scientific contribution in endocrinology and diabetes.The Rolf Luft Foundation for diabetes research invites nominations for the 2014 Rolf Luft Award in Endocrinology and Diabetes research. The Prize winner will receive a medal and a cash award. The Prize winner will also be invited to deliver a lecture on their research at the Karolinska Institutet.

The Ernst H. Bárány Prize

The Council of ISER awards an International Prize in honor of Professor Ernst H. Bárány, for his distinguished work in the field of ocular pharmacology. This award is presented to a distinguished scientist who has made outstanding contributions in research that increases our understanding of ocular pharmacology directly related to or applicable to glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, or related retinal diseases. The Ernst H. Bárány Prize is awarded at each Biennial Meeting of the Society of Eye Research.

The Endre A. Balazs Prize

The Council of ISER awards an International Prize to honor a distinguished scientist whose outstanding contributions provide significant progress in the field of experimental eye research. This prize was named the Endre A. Balazs Prize to honor Endre A. Balazs for his distinguished work in eye research and his contributions to the organization of the International Society for Eye Research. The Endre A. Balazs Prize is awarded at every Biennial Meeting of the Society for Eye Research.

Kavli Prize for Neuroscience

The Kavli Prize in Neuroscience is awarded for outstanding achievement in advancing our knowledge and understanding of the brain and nervous system, including molecular neuroscience, cellular neuroscience, systems neuroscience, neurogenetics, developmental neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, computational neuroscience, and related facets of the brain and nervous system.

Dr. A.H. Heineken Prize for Cognitive Science

The Dr A.H. Heineken Prize for Cognitive Science is awarded to an individual who has done outstanding work in cognitive science. The prize draws attention to the importance of studying the cognitive functions of human and animals, a relatively new branch of science.

Dr. A.H. Heineken Prize for Medicine

In 1989, the Alfred Heineken Fondsen Foundation established a biennial prize to be awarded to a pioneering medical researcher. The prize is also funded by the Foundation.

Dr. H.P. Heineken Prize for Biochemistry and Biophysics

Every other year, the Dr H.P. Heineken Foundation awards one of the most prestigious prizes conferred in the Netherlands: the Dr H.P. Heineken Prize for Biochemistry and Biophysics. In doing so, the Foundation draws attention to the importance of these two disciplines, including the biochemical and biophysical aspects of microbiology and the physiology of seed germination.
