• Users can search by nomination deadline. Select from the pull down menu if searching by deadline. In general, nomination deadlines for awards remain consistent year to year. Deadlines that have already passed are rolled over to the following month and year if they are annual awards. Please check the prize’s website for specific information on deadlines.

• To search all awards in the database, choose “Any” for category, don’t select a an option from research area nomination deadline dropdown menus

• Users can enter a keyword search. Keywords are taken from the name of the award and its general description as described on the award’s website.

• To perform a new search, simply enter new criteria for your search or select “Clear Search” to empty all fields.

Title: AAMC Abraham Flexner Award

The Flexner Award is granted annually to an individual for extraordinary contributions to the medical education community. The Lasker~Bloomberg Public Service Award honors exceptional individuals or organizations whose public service has profoundly enlarged the possibilities for medical research and the health sciences and their impact on the health of the public. Title: AAAS Martin and Rose Wachtel Cancer Research Award

AAAS and Science Translational Medicine invite applications for the inaugural AAAS Martin and Rose Wachtel Cancer Research Award. This annual award, funded by an endowment established through a generous bequest from Martin L. Wachtel, will honor an early-career investigator who has performed outstanding work in the field of cancer research. Entrants must have received their Ph.D. or M.D. within the last 10 years. The award winner will be invited to deliver a public lecture on his or her research and will receive a cash award of $25,000. The award winner’s Essay will be published as a Perspective in Science Translational Medicine.
