• Users can search by category, research area, or both category and research area.

• To search multiple research areas, hold down “command” (for Mac) or “cntrl” (for PC).

• Users can search by nomination deadline. Select from the pull down menu if searching by deadline. In general, nomination deadlines for awards remain consistent year to year. Deadlines that have already passed are rolled over to the following month and year if they are annual awards. Please check the prize’s website for specific information on deadlines.

• To search all awards in the database, choose “Any” for category, don’t select a an option from research area nomination deadline dropdown menus

• Users can enter a keyword search. Keywords are taken from the name of the award and its general description as described on the award’s website.

• To perform a new search, simply enter new criteria for your search or select “Clear Search” to empty all fields.

Title: The Abraham Horwitz Award for Excellence in Leadership in Inter-American Public Health

The Abraham Horwitz Award for Excellence in Leadership in Inter-American Public Health, created in 1975, recognizes leadership that has changed lives and improved health of the people of the Americas. This award honors creative public health leaders whose commitment and contributions to public health stimulates region-wide improvements in the lives of the peoples of the Americas, as well as excellence among their peers, staff, and other public health professionals. In addition, the award calls attention to health concerns throughout the Hemisphere, and is intended to inspire continuing achievements in region-wide health by professionals.

The William C. Title: ASBMB- The Herbert Tabor Research Award

The Herbert Tabor Research Award and lectureship has been established by the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology to recognize the many contributions of Dr. Herbert Tabor to the Journal of Biological Chemistry and the Society. The award will be given for excellence in biological chemistry and molecular biology and contributions to the community of scientists.  ASBMB seeks to be the first to recognize outstanding accomplishments. Nominations must originate from ASBMB members and the nominee must be a member of ASBMB.

Title: The Eppendorf & Science Prize for Neurobiology

The Eppendorf & Science Prize for Neurobiology acknowledges the increasingly active and important role of neurobiology in advancing our understanding of the functioning of the brain and the nervous system -- a quest that seems destined for dramatic expansion in the coming decades. This international prize, established in 2002, encourages the work of promising young neurobiologists by providing support in the early stages of their careers. It is awarded annually for the most outstanding neurobiological research by a young scientist, as described in a 1,000-word essay based on research performed during the past three years.
